Photocopying Non-Music Publications at Church

Licence: The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) Church Licence

With the majority of churches equipped with photocoping machines it is quite common for leaders to photocopy from non-music publications such as study books, teaching materials and magazines, etc.  However not all are aware that permission is required from the copyright owner - even if it's only for a one-off use.

To save you time from contacting every copyright owner each time you wish to photocopy their material CCLI can provide you with a simple, legal and affordable solution.

With the CLA you can:

• Photocopy articles from magazines and distribute to your leaders such as ideas on evangelism, mission or health & safety.
• Photocopy pages from study books and distribute in your small groups for teaching and training.
• Photocopy games and puzzles and distribute amongst your children's and youth groups.
• Photocopy drama scripts in order to rehearse your Christmas nativity or drama groups.
• Photocopy quizzes for your social groups.

There may be some occassions when a CLA Church Licence is not required. Check out their excluded works here.

Using Your CLA:

• Reporting - Under the Terms of Agreement of your licence you are also required to report which publications you photocopy from. Click here for CopyReport.

• Contact Details - As your licence is held by your church you are required to provide CCLI with contact details so we can contact you with updates to your licence.
