Showing Film Scenes at Christian Bookstores

Licences: Church Video Licence (CVL) and the Performing Right Society (PRS) Church Licence

If you are interested in showing films in your Christian bookshop, for whatever reason, you must obtain permission from the copyright owner.

As CCLI are agents to the Christian Video Licensing International (CVL) the The Performing Right Society (PRS) this permission can be granted through a CVL and a PRS Church Licence - so you don't need to contact every copyright owner each time you would like to play music in your bookshop, saving you time and costs.

Here's some golden rules to follow when showing films in your bookshop:

Can do	Can't do
Ask for a contribution from people.	Charge an entrance fee.
Show any number of films or film scenes from producers signed.	Show any film – check out the producers.
Promote the film within your bookshop (flyers, posters, etc).	Promote the film outside of your bookshop (including window display, etc).
Show films from television series that have been published by an authorised studio.	Show films that you have recorded from television.
Put the DVD in your computer and cue it up.	Burn the film onto another media for adding into a presentation.

By holding the PRS Church Licence you are also permitted to play music in your Christian bookshop. Click here for more info.

Licence Fees:

Licence fees are made up of the CVL flat rate (£144) and the PRS which is based upon size of premises.
