"CCLI is not a music industry business. It is a service to the Church. It is not in the business of creating or tracking radio hit songs. Think of it, they track the worship songs we sing in church. I find this refreshing."

Showing Film Scenes at Christian Bookshops

Licences: Church Video Licence (CVL) and the PRS for Music Church Licence Showing films

Showing films in your bookshop can help to promote sales of a  particular product, however, you may not be aware that pre-recorded videos and DVDs are only intended for personal home use and do not include permission for you to show them in your bookshop.

If you are showing films in your bookshop, for whatever reason, you must obtain the Church Video Licence.

As CCLI are agents to the Christian Video Licensing International (CVL) you can purchase this licence dfirectly from us.

Here's some golden rules to follow when showing films in your bookshop:

Can do
Can't do
Show any number of films from the producers signed. Show any film – check out the producers.
Show programmes from television series that have been published by an authorised studio.

Show films that have been recorded from television.

Put the DVD in your computer and cue it up. Copy the film scene to another media for inclusion in a presentation.

By holding the PRS for Music and PPL licences you are also permitted to play music in your Christian bookshop.

Licence Fees:

The CVL is based on a flat rate regardless of premises size. The PRS for Music Church Licence fee is based upon the shop premises floor area in m²
